Microsoft has released a patch to fix the security issue with print services.
The systems we manage are set up to automatically update. Once that update occurs, printing will be re-enabled on that system. To speed that process users are encouraged to run Windows Update on their own (see instructions) to ensure that their systems are up-to-date. This should be done on all Windows systems that you use, including your personal computers.
For systems managed by SAS IT, printing services will remain disabled until the system has been patched, including systems that are newly connected or re-connected to the network. Linux and Mac users should be able to print to networked printers immediately with no need to update their systems.
