Configuring Thunderbird to Access a Shared Account
This can be done by clicking the menu highlighted in yellow below and choosing
Then choose options
Then choose account settings
Now choose Add Mail Account...
Enter the name you'd like people to see when you send mail from this shared account in the Your Name field.
Enter the e-mail address of the shared account in the Email Address field
Enter your NetID password in the Password field.
Thunderbird will try to configure itself automatically. It won't be able to. Click Manual config to stop it from trying.
Change the information in the yellow box. Incoming and Outgoing servers are the same for everyone. Make sure the settings match what is in the picture below.
Now click Re-test. After the test, the Done button will work. Click Done.
You're done. You should now see the new account setup in the navigation bar of Thunderbird. You'll need to repeat this entire procedure for every shared account you have to setup.
