eLearning Placement Exam
- Description:
The eLearning placement exam host a variety of subjects to help place incoming students in New Brunswick and Camden. It includes Math, English, Chemistry, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Turkish, German, Japanese, French, Russian, Arabic and Latin. A new Computer Science placement is coming soon.

Language Bank
- Description:
The Language Bank is a free service provided by the Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences. Its mission is to provide translation and interpreting services to local non-profits, social services organizations, and outreach initiatives. The program provides our volunteers – Rutgers students, staff, and faculty – with the opportunity to engage with and serve the local community.

Language Exchange Program
- Description:
Students are partnered to exchange conversation in both languages with one of their peers once a week for an hour at a regular time period that fits their schedule. Language Exchange partners meet three times throughout the semester with a supervisor who validates the Exchange. Students record short entries after each partner meeting noting the linguistic skills practiced and the cultural elements and topics discussed.

Language Mentoring Program
- Description:
The LEP Mentoring Activity is a one credit PA/NC offering where, in addition to an introductory orientation, students meet for one hour per week for twelve weeks throughout the semester to advance their cultural competency and language proficiency in a specified language. Students are paired in mentor/mentee groups where the mentee identifies learning goals and the mentor, who is at a higher proficiency level than the mentee, helps the mentee to reach these goals. The pair is supervised by a faculty member in the language and must meet with them a minimum of three times.
